Well, once you've dated 20+ men in NYC in a little over a year, you earn more than an expert stamp, you earn the metropolitan medal of honor. Trust me. This is bravery redefined. And as a background story is an essential precursor to any first date, here's an abbreviated version of mine:
Let's go back to April 2008. My friends were all in relationships; I was the single one. This never bothered me until one of said monogamous friends pulled me aside one day and told me "I'm really a terrible thing to waste."
Probably one of the best and hard-hitting compliments I've ever received---so much that later that night, I joined the thousands of other single women in the online dating pool.
It had been a few years since I had really put myself out there, so I figured I'd do more than get my feet wet--I'd just dive in head (not heart) first.
Fast forward to the birth of The Hotline:
A little over a year and 20+ guys later, I'm now the committed one in a completely single group of friends. And I couldn't be happier. I have found someone who makes me realize why everyone else I dated was wrong for me. Someone who shows me the beauty in the everyday. And in addition to these 'never-thought-possible' feelings and great sex, I mean really great sex, I have an endless amount of unbelievable and hilarious stories, advice and 'are you kidding' moments that I am compelled to share with you.
